In 2013, while serving as Vice President of Sales at a major logistics company, Davide Trantino identified emerging European demand for retail-ready, bagged residential wood pellets. By personally developing buyer relationships in Italy and connecting producers with distributors—while also facilitating containerized logistics—he helped open one of the first containerized export markets for Eastern Canadian pellets into Europe.

Since then, Davide has become a recognized pioneer in containerized wood pellet exports from Eastern and Western Canada and the Eastern United States to both Europe and Asia. From this experience, Cargo Trade Consulting (CTC) was established.

CTC differentiates itself through fully turnkey logistics solutions, competitive market pricing, and hands-on operational oversight. Services include inland trucking and rail, cross-docking, container handling, ocean freight, brokerage, and strategic consulting for buyers, producers, and suppliers.

Today, CTC plays a key role in structuring secure supply agreements and supporting producers entering the export market for the first time. In 2022 alone, the company coordinated over $22 million in Canadian and U.S. wood pellet shipments to Europe—approximately 4,500 containers annually.
